In my first installment I discussed the proper holder to place your card into and now I will discuss how to package your cards for shipment to the grading company of your choice. Both Beckett Grading Services (BGS) and Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) advise customers to package cards similarly because it is a very safe method to get your cards there.
-
After the cards are placed into the proper holders (Card Savers), place them in between two pieces of cardboard that are slightly larger than the cards, unlike how people ship raw cards on eBay!
- Place packing tape in a “T” shape around the cardboard or rubber band the cardboard.
- Put the cards into a box and place packing material around the cards such as newspaper, Styrofoam pellets, bubble wrap, etc…
-
Go to the post office and ship them: I like to us USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and of course insure your cards for the value that you paid for each of them.
That’s it. Then all you have to do is wait and hope you get back some PSA 10’s or BGS 9.5’s!
Happy Collecting
